Update on NY States!
by posted 02/25/2021

Good Morning Team!

I wanted to give all of you an update on news that was just passed along regarding States. The tournament if officially ON! Tournament date will be April 9-11th. Our play down games will be held on 3/19-3/21 and 3/26-3/28. Please make every effort to leave these weekends available.

It is very important to try and make it to every game that is scheduled. All players need 7 games to qualify to compete at states. Please make sure that you are letting the coaches know of any conflicts that may come up as soon as you know so we can make any necessary adjustments.

We should have more information regarding the tournment coming out early next week, so as soon as we hear we will make sure to pass the message along to you.

Keep a look out for emails with updates!

Best,

Coach Mar

Tonight’s Practice
by posted 02/24/2021

Team,

Just to keep all of you in the loop, as some of you may know I am a teacher in Greenwich. My classroom just got shut down because of a positive COVID case and out of an abundance of caution, since our season is just getting started again, I am going to have to miss our practice tonight. Coach Dean and Coach Brittany will be at the rink tonight and will help with practice coverage. The safety of the players and families is my main priority and I want to reassure you all that I will not return to the ice or to games until I am 100% sure that I am clear from exposure.

Have a great week, and I hope to see you all at the rink soon!

Best,

Coach Mar

Games on 2/27
by posted 02/16/2021

Team,

A quick update on the game front. The Little Flyers (the team we played for our first game this weekend with the 1-1 tie) is looking to host us for games on 2/27. First game would be at 12:00 p.m. Second game at 3:45 p.m. Third game at 8:30 p.m. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are able to make these games so we can finalize a roster and make the necessary arrangements.

We also have an update on New York State Playoffs. As of right now the tournament is scheduled for early April. If all  continues moving forward our team needs to be playing high quality, fast paced games to get us ready for the competition in Buffalo. The game against the Little Flyers was definitely our toughest competition this past weekend which is why these three games would be a great opportunity for our team. Player attendance at practice is going to become very important so it is crucial for players to make every effort to be at the rink at those times. If you cannot make practice, it is the player's responsibility to notify the coaches. This group has a chance to do very well in Buffalo if they continue to play like they played this weekend.

We are currently working on a plan for this weekends game slot so please keep an eye out for an email from Betsy or myself. I have also attached a video highlight reel made by Xander Clague (Jules' dad) of our final game from this past weekend!

Have a great week!

Congrats Tigers and Thank you!
by posted 02/15/2021

Team,

What an incredible weekend of hockey! I cannot express how happy and proud I am of the girls. It was an absolute blast getting to coach them this weekend. With only ten skaters, our girls came together and never gave up. After looking at the score sheets the Tigers out shot our opponents 148-78 which is incredible. We scored a total of 23 goals and our offensive pressure, and outstanding goaltending, kept the other teams to only scoring 4 goals against us. Every single player on our bench contributed to making this win possible and we would not have been able to make it without each of you, so players, thank you! This win is well deserved and I am very excited to see what else is in store for our team for the remainder of this season.

Parents- I want to personally thank all of you for your help and support this weekend. This win would not be possible without you getting the players to and from the rink each day, so thank you! Please send along any pictures you have of the girls with the banner!

Way to go Tigers on a well deserved victory. You are the President's Day Classic Champions and should be very proud of that.  Now time for some hard earned rest!!

See you at the rink next weekend and enjoy your week off!
